![]() Not a good thing when trying to drink soda but smelling fish. On one side of the building is a fresh seafood market and the other side is the restaurant. We went yesterday on our way home from Cedar Key. The purpose of this review is to inform, not bash. My compliments to the cook and wait staff….and their chowder was more authentic than Tony’s canned stuff ….and last but not least, sweet tea was on point and my whole family was happy. They offer an AYCE dinner of shrimp or grouper for $18.95 but we didn’t opt for this and still walked out with full bellies. Seafood market in restaurant had fresh snapper, grouper, and shrimp from local waters. Their fried shrimp and grouper were done A+ lightly fried better than most restaurants I’ve been to. ![]() I got Shrimp dinner and I’ve eaten a lot of seafood growing up in south FL and spending many weekends in the Bahamas or fishing and exploring Florida coastline. We were driving by at 4:30 so it was early, but Robinson’s Seafood was an amazing stop on Super Bowl Sunday. We stopped here after trying Annie’s and learning they only do breakfast and lunch. Next time we’ll skip the restaurant and buy seafood to prepare ourselves! More All the seafood at the market looked very fresh-and it seemed like a popular place. We splurged and bought stone crab claws to enjoy at the cottage we are staying at. Also of note, the restaurant is attached to a small seafood market. On a positive note, our server was an extremely polite young man who was very attentive and gave great service. The deep fried items had a heavy batter coating-he prefers a lighter batter, and he didn’t finish the crab cake. He also had the seafood platter-deep fried fish, shrimp and oysters, and a deviled crab cake. My husband also had the chowder which he liked. The crab cake was crisp on the outside, but pretty mushy on the inside and I didn’t taste much crab. It arrived with complementary hushpuppies which were a treat for this northern girl The salad was mixed greens (a bit limp) and shredded carrots topped with a deviled crab cake served. I had clam chowder and a deviled crab cake salad. There is no beer or alcohol here.Īnyone wanting great food in an unpretentious setting should come here. I could only finish one plate of the all-you-can-eat. Whole red snapper, beautiful, all lined up side by side. There is an adjacent fish market with the best fish just caught, on ice in a display case. The Robinsons go out in a boat (I assume) and supply all items served fresh. I got the fabulous grouper chowder, and the main choices were shrimp, mullet (when available), and sea bass filets. It came with hush puppies and some delicious dipping sauces. an all-you-can-eat seafood lunch for 18.95. I wanted real seafood away from the ocean view pricing. This roadside attraction caught my eye as I was on my way back to Cedar Key, FL from a Sunday excursion.
